Russell Porter Shockley

Mr. Russell Porter Shockley, age 82 of Collinsville, Virginia passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2020.
He was born on August 13, 1937 in Carroll County, Virginia. He was a son of the late Eldon Early Shockley and the late Gladys Porter Shockley, he was also predeceased by a brother, John Shockley. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints. He served honorable in the U.S. Air Force. He loved to travel, NASCAR Racing, Blue Grass Music, his family and he was a Mr. Fixit.
Mr. Shockley is survived by his wife, Clovie Goad Shockley, two daughters, Rene Dutton (Daniel), Kim Nelson (Billy) and a son, David Shockley. He also leaves nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, two sisters, Patricia Lewis and Jane Quesenberry.
A Private Graveside Service will be conducted on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at 1:00 PM in the Shockley Family Cemetery, Hillsville, Virginia with Military Rites to be performed by the Grover King V.F.W. Post 1115 Honor Guard.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 2:00 PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter -day Saints, Riverside Drive, Bassett, Virginia.
