Matilda “Dolores” Lorenz, 78, of Columbus died 12:40 a.m. Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at Our Hospice Inpatient Facility.
From her early days as Nun Sister Mary Joan Michael caring for children in an orphanage and the elderly in a nursing home, to becoming an RN, and finally a Hospice nurse, Dolores’ life was one of service.
She was a lover of animals, especially dogs, and, along with her dear friend Marilyn Grove, was able to share that love through a pet sitting service after retirement.
Dolores was born in Dayton, OH July 27, 1940, the daughter of Michael and Anna B. Kender Lorenz.
She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Nashville, IN and the John Purdue Club.
She is survived by nieces, Cindy (Jeff) Reed of Columbus and Becky (Steve) McAtee of Loogootee, IN.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Claranne Manning; dear friend, Marilyn Grove.
Private inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery Dayton, OH at a later date.
