Aileen M. Steenken

Aileen M. Steenken, 100, of Connersville, died early Friday morning, October 18, 2019, at Hickory Creek of Connersville.
Aileen was born in Metamora on December 2, 1918 to Louis William and Phoebe Gabbard Wolf and attended school in Laurel. On August 2, 1941, she was married in Crescent Springs, Kentucky to Henry J. Steenken whom she had originally met while square dancing. Aileen was a member of St. Gabriel Church and liked to solve crossword puzzles. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother.
Aileen is survived her daughter: Judith A. Baker of Connersville; her grandchildren: Ray Peterson and his wife, Cyndi; Rhonda Baker, all of Connersville; her great-granddaughter: Jamie Peterson; nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Aileen was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years who died January 16, 2011; her sisters: Henrietta Donhue and Gertrude Wolf; two great-grandchildren: Haley Jo Baker and Troy Lynn Peterson.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 23, 2019, by Rev. Dustin Boehm at St. Gabriel Church. Interment will follow in section L of Dale Cemetery. Friends may visit at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville, from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, where the rosary service will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Friends may also visit after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
