Barbara L. Hoon

Barbara L. Hoon, 82, of Evansville, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 5, 2019 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Rose Hill, Illinois. Barbara’s life centered around her family whom she loved very much. She was a very kind, humble and loving mom, Grams, and sister. She was proud to have traveled all 50 states wither her family and friends. She loved reading, playing cards, and family dinners. She was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Hoon; mother, Gladys January; son, Jeffrey Hoon; and brother, Bill Andrews. Barbara is survived by her daughters, Pamela Head (Jeffery) and Carol Head (Chris); 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Cheryl Coleman (Paul); sister-in-law, Joanell Hayden (Joe); nieces and nephews; and dear friend, Barbara Isaac. Her family would to thank Dr. Anthony Stephens and the staff at Oncology Hematology Associates, Specialty Home Healthcare, and Kindred Hospice, especially Kelly and Darcy. Funeral Services will be held 12:00 p.m. Monday, April 8, 2019 at Alexander East Chapel officiated by Larry Davis with burial in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit 1-5 p.m. Sunday and 11:00 a.m. until service time on Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Chemo Buddies or American Cancer Society.
