James Alfred Cage Sr.

James “Jim” Cage, Sr., 91, of Evansville, IN passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2020. He was born on September 8, 1928 in Ballard County, KY to the late Henry Edward and Mollie Cage.
Jim was a veteran of the US Army having served during the Korean War. He was a store manager for Wessleman’s for 30 years. Jim also served as a pastor in Mitchell, Cannelton and Evansville. He worked with Special Olympics and was past President of North Park Kiwanis Club. Jim was an ordained Deacon at Grace Baptist Church, North Park Baptist Church and Community Central Church. He ran the food pantry at Grace and North Park Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Henry Cage; and sister, Mary Lou Smith.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Wanda; daughters; Dorothy Perry (John) of Washington, IN, Suzanne Wiandt (Ron) of Evansville, IN, Joy Cage of Evansville, IN; son, Jamie Cage (Debbie) of Evansville, IN; 7 grandchildren, Valeri Cockerham, Emily Perry, Isaac Cage, Rebekah Cage, Philip Wiandt, Jacob Wiandt, Molly Wiandt; 2 great-grandsons, Logan Garcia and Kaleb Cockerham.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at Alexander North Chapel officiated by Rev. Bobby Cox and Rev. Alan Scott. Family and friends may visit from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at Alexander North Chapel, and on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Central Church.
