Robert Eugene Overfield

Robert “Bob” Eugene Overfield, 84, of Evansville, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at St. Mary’s Medical Center. He was born July 16, 1928, in Evansville, to the late Herbert E. and Mayme (Fisher) Overfield. He was a US Army Veteran and retired in 1990 from Whirlpool as a Product Engineer. He was a member of Christ Church UCC, a life member of the Reserve Officers Association, a member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers and President of the Evansville Chapter of ASHRAE. Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Eveyonne Overfield, in 2011; brother, Donald Overfield; and sister, Annabelle Coleman. He is survived by his daughters, Rosalind Anne Scherrer of Plainfield, IN, Denise Elizabeth (Mark) Shipley of St. Charles, IL, and Gayle Annette (Peter) Baker of Indianapolis; and grandchildren, Kaitlin A. Trueblood, Robyn Scherrer, Colleen and Amy Baker, and Carson and Colin Shipley. Services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Dr. John Charles, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park.
