Vernie "Pete" Gallion

Vernie Gallion (aka Cactus Pete) was born to Walter Samuel Gallion on June 29, 1944 in Evansville. He passed away on Friday, February 12, 2021 due to cardiac arrest. He is survived by his sons, Dwayne Gallion, Brandon Gallion, Gregory Schaefer, and Eric Schaefer; daughter, Amber Mayfield; sisters, Tammy Kavalos, Rhonda Briggs, Rebecca Colon; Kathleen Reed, and Diana Hill; 14 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Walter “Delmo” Gallion, Michael “Mike” Gallion, and Samuel Lloyd Gallion. A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2021, from 10:00 a.m.to 12:00 p.m. at Alexander North Chapel. Flowers or monetary donations to help cover the cost of the memorial may be made directly to the family.
