Raymond Lamont Wellde Jr.

Raymond Lamont Wellde Jr. went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 21 at the age of 70. He was born in Denver, CO on March 5,1951 and lived in many places in the US & Europe due to his father’s military service. He graduated from Annandale High School in 1970 and from Arkansas College in 1975. He worked in retail sales management for 13 years in Washington DC, Virginia and New Jersey. Ray was passionate about Civil War history and had a considerable collection of classic rock albums. He was filled with a thankful heart at the end of his life. He is lovingly remembered by his sister, Joyce McCarten, nieces: Michelle and Melissa McCarten and former spouse Ansel Ponder (Rhodes). He is predeceased by his parents Col. Raymond Lamont Wellde and Florence Marie Wellde (Nippert). Ray’s family is thankful for the care he received from The Falls Church Anglican, Annandale Health Care Center, Leewood Rehabilitation Center, Fairfax INOVA, Bobby and Terry Burke and Newton & Ximena Centellas.
