Beatrice Arlene Baney, 95, passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at Greystone Health and Rehabilitation in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was born January 10, 1927 in Chesaning, Michigan, the daughter of the late Charles and Mildred (Phobie) Stewart.
Bea was an amazing mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She was an excellent cook and took great pride in the upkeep of her home. Bea enjoyed “dressing to the nines” and going to her grandchildrens' events. She had the heart of a servant and would do anything she could to help.
Bea is survived by her children, Vickie M. (Bill) Baney-McEldowney of Fort Wayne, IN, Duane (Ann) Baney of Lexington, OH; grandson, Vincent Charles (Charlotte) Lewis of Las Vegas, NV; 5 step grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 6 siblings; and a grandson, Curtis A. Lewis.
A funeral service to honor Bea's life will be held at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, with visitation beginning at 4:00 pm, until time of service. In a private family ceremony, she will be laid to rest at Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her honor may be directed to Humane Fort Wayne (formerly Allen Co. SPCA), Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control, the National Alliance of Mentally Ill (NAMI), or the Wounded Warrior Project.
