Felicie "Sissie" Boyneburg

Felicie “Sissie” Boyneburg, a long-time resident of Fort Wayne, died peacefully on Friday, 29 June 2018 at the Visiting Nurse Hospice. Born in in Graz, Austria, on 11 September 1927, Sissie immigrated to the United States in 1955. Sissie opened up her own dog grooming business with her sister (Afra Carstens) in the early 1970s. “Sissie’s Pet Salon” grew to a steady customer base of over 4,000 clients and was the most successful business of its kind in the local area during the 1970s and 80s. Sissie also served as the Senior Instructor for the Tri-State Academy of Pet Grooming. Sissie loved animals of all kinds, especially her two cats: Domino and Trouble. Sissie will always be remembered for the charity work she performed on behalf of the (former) Fort Wayne Humane Shelter and numerous veterinarians in the Allen Country area. Sissie is survived by her nephew, David Carstens and his family, all of whom live in Wiesbaden, Germany, and brought great joy to her in her later years.
