Margaret Bernice “Bea” Woody Zollinger, 89, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2018, at Maple Lawn Medical Care in Coldwater, Michigan, with both of her daughters by her side. Bea was born to Francis Maye & Benjamin H Woody, on July 15, 1929, in West Plains, Missouri. When she was 9, the family moved to Fort Wayne, where she spent the majority of her life. She married her love, Wilfred “Bill” Zollinger, in 1948; he preceded her in death in 2009. Bea was a gifted seamstress, quilter, oil painter, and china painter. She and Bill also loved to travel near and far; in their retirement they would spend half the year in Florida, and the other half at their house on a lake in Indiana. Most of all she loved her family, her happiest days were when her family was all seated at her dining table. She is survived by her daughters, Marisue Taylor, of Coldwater, Michigan, and Karen (David) Foltz, of Naples, Florida; son, William Zollinger, of Austin, Texas. The joy of her life were her grandchildren, she was so proud of them, Jennifer (Brandy) Simon, and their children, Allison and Olivia, of Avon, Stephanie (Jason) Tebeau, and their children, Alexander and Emily, of Alpharetta, Georgia, Wade Zollinger, and his children, Bryce and Regan, of Houston, Texas. Bea was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a grandson, Daniel Zollinger, two brothers, and three sisters.
Memorial service will be 1pm, Thursday, January 3, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St Joe Road, Fort Wayne, with calling two hours prior to service. Inurnment will be in Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne, at a later date.
