Robert A. Hursh

Robert A. Hursh, 91, passed away on December 9th, 2020. He was born in Fort Wayne, IN on April 29, 1929.
Robert graduated from Northside High School where he set a record in track. He was very athletic and enjoyed golf, and bowling, playing in various leagues. He worked for the Sun Oil Co. for 20 years and the City of Fort Wayne as an accountant for technical services for 20 years, retiring in 1995. He was a Korean War Veteran and spent time stationed in Panama and Greenland. In 1954, he married the love of his life, Mildred J. Leffers, and they enjoyed 56 years of marriage until her passing in 2010. He was preceded in death by his sister Bobette King. Robert was a kind man who never had a bad word to say about anyone. His family meant the world to him, he never forgot a birthday or anniversary. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his three children, daughter, Robin (Don) McGinley; sons, Michael (Karen) Hursh, and Jay (Cyndy) Hursh; along with 7 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 12 noon on Tuesday, December 22, at C.M Sloan and Sons Funeral Home (1327 North Wells Street, Fort Wayne), with visitation beginning 2 hours prior, from 10am to 12pm. Burial, with Military Honors, will be in Lindenwood Cemetery.
