Ronald R. Blakley, 94, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 30, 2022. Born in Kansas City, Missouri, Ron proudly served in the US Marine Corps.
Ron moved to Fort Wayne to start his career in tool design. He, along with two business partners, launched Guide Engineering. Ron's machines are in use on five continents. The company saw over 40 years of growth and success at the time of Ron's retirement. Ron was preceded in death by Nancy, his wife of 48 years. Surviving are his daughters Julie A. (Robert) Wear of Lexington, Kentucky, Suzanne M. (Robert) Donalson of Houston, Texas, Jennifer E. (David) Paris of Fort Wayne, son Brent L. Blakley of Bloomington; grandchildren, Tom, Steve, Matt, Bobby, Tony, Lara, Christy, Bonnie and Lynn; and numerous great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30pm on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 6750 Covington Road, Fort Wayne. A visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 6:00 to 8:00pm on Friday, February 11, 2022, also at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
