Cheryl Monroe Staubs went home to the Lord on March 9, 2020.
Born on December 29, 1946 to Nathan and Velva Monroe, Cheryl grew up in Stafford, graduating from Stafford High School in 1965. She held several executive level secretarial jobs and spent many years residing in Fort Lauderdale, FL., returning to Fredericksburg to be closer to her family. She had an infinite love for gardening, crafting and being outdoors.
Cheryl is preceded in death by her mother (Velva Monroe), father (Nathan Monroe), brother (Ricky Monroe), and son (John Martin). She leaves behind four children, (Candy Fizer, Jim Martin, Christi Martin and Ashley Staubs), a sister (Marlene Romeo) as well as 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, 1621 Jefferson Davis Highway, Fredericksburg, Virginia 22401 on Saturday, March 14th at 1:00 pm, followed by a service at 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of Cheryl’s memory to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
