Janet Mae Chartrand

Janet Mae Chartrand, 87, of Greencastle passed away Friday, January 18, 2019 at her residence. Janet was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts on November 7, 1931, the daughter of Timothy and Clara Mae (Brown) Ellingwood. Mrs. Chartrand graduated from Cosmetology School, and worked as a Beautician for over 35 years until her health would not let her continue. She was a member of AA and was 46 years sober; she touched many lives and helped other to sobriety and live better lives. She was an artist and an amazing seamstress. Survivors include her three daughters, Jeanne Baird, Chino Hills, California, Paulette Chartrand, San Luis Obispo, California and Debra Gannaway, (husband-Douglas), Greencastle; five grandchildren, Bonnie Little, (husband-Dan), Bill Stephens, (wife-Clinton), Alex Gannaway, Caitlin Sullivan, (husband-Andrew), and Taylor Gannaway; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Hart, (husband-Doug); and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Bob Ellingwood. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 16, 2019, at Life Builder Church with Pastor Bobbie Hopper officiating.
