Elois Sawyer Clarkson

Elois Sawyer Clarkson, 84, passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2017. She was a lifelong resident of Hampton. Elois was a graduate of Hampton High School Class of 1951. She was retired from the Newport News Shipyard after 45 years. She attended Abundant Life Tabernacle in Hampton. Elois was preceded in rest by her husband of 57 years, Abe Clarkson; parents, Odell O. Sawyer and Georgie Mae Earley; five sisters and a brother. She is survived by her two sisters, Gladys McLawhorn (Edward) and Oda Mae Saunders; brother, William Clay Sawyer (Gayle). The family will receive friends 1:00 to 2:00 pm, Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home followed by a celebration of Elois’ life at 2:00 pm in the funeral home.
