Harry "Tim" Timothy Mallon

H. Timothy (“Tim”) Mallon of New Market, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, 2 December 2021. He was born to the late Harry Samuel and Sara Cecilia Walmsley Mallon on 3 August 1943 in Washington, DC. Tim is survived by three sons, Matthew of Butler, Pennsylvania; Jacob of Martinsburg, West Virginia; and Todd—his loving caregiver for the past 11 years—of New Market. Tim was proud to be a lifelong Virginian. Raised in Arlington and Fairfax, he graduated from J.E.B. Stuart High School, where he excelled in track and field, earning the nickname “Skip” for his unique high-jump style. During the Vietnam War, he was stationed stateside with the Air Force, where he served for a time in the Honor Guard at Arlington National Cemetery. After his discharge, Tim began his Government career, first at the Department of the Navy and then the Central Intelligence Agency until his retirement in 1995. Once retired, Tim relocated to New Market, where he enjoyed regaling all comers with his wicked sense of humor, listening to country music, watching old Westerns, and hosting his faithful hunting buddies at his cabin in the woods. Honoring his wishes, inurnment will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date, where the honors this time will be for him.
