Wendell Nelson Peacock, Jr. 58, of Harrisonburg passed away on July 22, 2020, at his home.

He was born on August 23, 1961 in Minneapolis, MN and was the son of the late Wendell N. Peacock, Sr. and Charlotte Byrd Peacock.

Wendell graduated from Gilford High School in Greensboro, NC, and was an Uber driver. He attended Potter’s House Worship Center and enjoyed couponing and working out in the gym. He also worked for Simmons Cut and Tan for many years and made a lot of friends.

He is survived by a sister, Wilma “Jeanie” White of Staunton; a brother, Floyd Joseph “Joe” Peacock of Harrisonburg; and lived with his dog “POW”, who was his best friend and buddy; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a nephew, Michael Shifflett.

A memorial service will be held 2 pm, Saturday, August 29, 2020 at Potters House Worship Center, with Pastor Dan Garber officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Valley Veterinary Hospital, 498 University Blvd., Suite A, Harrisonburg, VA 22801.

We lived next door to Wendell
. Our kids played together and we loved Wendell. I remember taking him to the beach with the youth group and how he loved seeing the beach. He was a good boy. He’s in Gods care now.

he would drive me to a fro...when needed ..i didnt know him that much, but he seemed an easy fellow to know, i trusted him he exbureated honesty...the world has lost a GOOD I mourn the loss...he was a stand up man...I ..morn the loss of this man to this world, we dont have enough men like him and we just lost I tear.

I have fond memories of Wendell and myself cutting up in Mr. Spencer’s band. He was a fun loving friend. May you have a fast trip to heaven my friend. I’m sure you are missed. I’ll see you there!
