John Paul Badovinich

John P. "Badie" Badovinich passed away June 27, 2014. Beloved husband of Violet for 67 years; loving father to Rick (Judi) Badovinich and Cary Badovinich; cherished brother to Dollie (Alex) Bajusz; dearest brother in law to George (Ruth) Vann and Dorothy Jordan; adored by many nieces and nephews. John was a WWII veteran-a gunner on an LST "The USS McKean". He was shot in the legs during the battle at Iwo Jima, where he received a Purple Heart. He was retired 23 years from the East Chicago Police department. He worked as a starter at Wicker Park Golf Course for 30 years and played golf there most of his life, which he enjoyed more than anything else. John will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
