Ralph Edward Ryker Jr.

Ralph Edward Ryker Jr., 69, of Kokomo, passed away at 6:40 AM Tuesday July 30, 2019 at his residence. Born October 26, 1949 in Kokomo, he was the son of the late Ralph E. Ryker, Sr. and Myrtle (Phillips) Ryker. On January 16, 1976 in Kokomo, he married Melissa (High), and she survives. He was a veteran serving in the United States Army in the Vietnam War, receiving the Purple Heart. He was employed with Merritt's Truck and Auto Repair for 35 years; also with Stratosphere Quality for eight years before retiring. He loved fishing, watching western movies, riding his Harley and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Melissa Ryker of Kokomo; one son Chad Ryker of Greensburg and daughter Kristy Ryker and companion Robbie Watson of Kokomo; also two other children from a previous marriage Robert Ryker and Theresa Ryker; one sister Peggy (David) Ingols of Wabash; seven grandchildren Cameron, Nathan, Heaven, Cara, James, Makayla and Maliki; also several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents five sisters and one brother. Funeral services with Military Rites by the U.S. Army and the Kokomo Military Rites Team will be 1:00 PM Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 S. Webster Street, Kokomo. Matthew Webb will officiate. Cremation will follow. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Saturday at the mortuary. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society with envelopes available at the mortuary.
