Robert Bougher, age 93, passed away on August 29, 2018 in Kokomo. Robert was born on August 13, 1925 in Logansport, Indiana to the late Chester and Anna (Hammond) Bougher.
Robert enlisted in the United States Army and served as a truck driver in World War II, and was awarded the Bronze Star. Following his service, Robert married the love of his life, Janice L. (Batt) Bougher in Muncie, Indiana on May 27, 1949. Janice preceded Robert in passing on August 17, 2007.
Robert worked at Chrysler of Kokomo as a machinist for 43 years, retiring in 1992. He belonged to UAW Local 685. Robert was an all-around handyman, and always enjoyed fixing and building things. He also enjoyed traveling with his family, watching cowboy movies and wrestling on TV, and listening to country music. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and his constant teasing would always make them laugh.
Robert is survived by his son, Jeffery Bougher; sisters, Eileen Bougher, Betty (Bobby) Linson, and Carolyn Helton; brother, Richard Bougher; and grandchildren, Jeremy Wisler, Jarah (Rob) Johnson, and Eric (Amanda) Bougher. He also leaves several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews to cherish his memory.
In addition to his parents and wife, Robert was preceded in death by a son, Robert Bougher Jr; brothers, Ronald Bougher and Dale Bougher; and a sister, Mary Silcox.
