Charles Henry Martin

Charles Henry Martin, 77, of Lynchburg, passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at his residence. He was the devoted husband of Gloria Kidd Martin for fifty-five years. Born January 3, 1936 in Nelson County, he was the son of the late Carrie Martin Viar. Mr. Martin was a retired machinist with Babcock & Wilcox and was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. In addition to his wife, Mr. Martin is survived by six children, Charles Martin of Rustburg, Vicky Martin of Lynchburg, Mike Martin of Rustburg, Anna Bean and husband James of Cumming, GA, Mark Martin of Lynchburg, and Sandi Papas of Cumming, GA; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Charles’ life at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, September 1, 2013 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel. Whitten Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, Timberlake Chapel is serving the family.
