David Mitchell Candler

David Mitchell Candler, 72, of Petersburg and formerly of Madison Heights, passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2018. Born on August 2, 1942 in Roanoke, he was the son of the late Charles L. Candler and the late Elizabeth Lellyett Candler. David was a resident of Central Virginia Training Center before being transferred to The Ivy House in Colonial Heights. He enjoyed listening to vinyl records and music. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Harriett White. David is survived by a niece, Lynne Lawson and husband Carlton. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Margaret Moore and the staff at Central Virginia Training Center and to Margaret and Jeff Lindstrom of the Ivy House for their wonderful care and support of David. A graveside service will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Spring Hill Cemetery.
