Obituary of Margaret Louise Goad Moore
Margaret Louise Goad Moore, 90, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 13, 2018. She was preceded in death by her loving husband William Hansford Moore “Hambone” and her cherished daughter-in-law Chris Ann Moore. Born April 2, 1928 in Coalwood, WV, she was the daughter of the late James Blaine Goad and Edna Day Goad. Left to cherish her memory are her son William Hansford Moore, Jr. “Buddy”; her sisters Mary Jeannette Eagle, Edna Mae Johnson both of Appomattox, Martha Ann Borger and her husband Henry of Maryland, Bettie Jean Bywater of Texas, Carolyn Marie Dodson and her husband Lee of Lynchburg; her grandchildren Mickey and Beth Moore, Todd and Lisa Moore and Tammy and Kevin Bryant; and her great-grandchildren Christopher and Aubrianah Moore, Kane Bryant, Morgan Moore, Faith Moore, Luke Bryant and Kayla Moore. “MaMa”, as she liked to be called, worked in the Cotton Mill and in the garment industry for years before she retired. She never met a stranger and was most known for her love of Jesus and her greeting card ministry. She would send a card to everyone she knew for any and every occasion. She spent at least half of her life watching sporting events...starting with Buddy, she never missed a game, then her grandchildren and finally her great-grandchildren. She was also a huge Liberty University Athletics fan and hardly missed a game. All who were blessed to know her will remember her strength, spirit, love, faith and most of all her smile. The family will receive friends and family from 6pm to 8pm on Tuesday evening, July 17, 2018 at Whitten Timberlake. A celebration of her life will be held at 11am on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel, with the Rev David Critcher officiating and assisted by Rev. Curtis Walkup. Interment to follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
