Ruby Reese Rickmon

Ruby Reese Rickmon, 92, of Lynchburg, passed away on Friday, July 6, 2018, at Liberty Ridge Health and Rehab. She was the wife of the late Rawleigh Allen Rickmon. Born on April 6, 1926, in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late John Robert Reese and the late Cecile Coates Reese. In addition to her husband and parents, Ruby was preceded in death by four brothers, Earl Reese, Kenneth Reese, Bernard Reese and Wayne Reese; one son, Allen Rickmon; and one grandson, Daniel Rickmon. Ruby is survived by two sons, Dennis Rickmon and fiancé Joan Przywitowski and Larry Rickmon and wife, Sharon; two brothers, Buddy Reese and Bill Reese and wife, Nancy; three sisters, Kathleen Irby, Bobbie Hill and husband, Will and Anne Moorefield and husband, Eugene; 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Ruby was a member of Chestnut Hill Baptist Church in Lynchburg. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Pastor Ian McManamey officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
