Jeanette Stanley Tyree Dalton Bowyer

Jeanette Stanley Tyree Dalton Bowyer, 85, of Monroe passed away Sunday, December 1, 2019, at The Carrington. She was the wife of her late first husband, Herbert Lester Tyree; second husband Morris Lee Dalton, and wife to her current husband, John Wayne Bowyer. Born January 28, 1934, in Amherst County, she was the daughter of the late John Franklin Stanley and the late Grace Loving Nash Stanley. Jeanette was a retired business clerk for Piedmont Community Health Plan and also formerly retired from Centra Health. She was of the Methodist faith and grew up in Court Street United Methodist Church. Jeanette’s father, John Franklin Stanley, passed away in 1935; so her mother and sisters were raised in the Miller Home for girls. She was a phenomenal basketball player in high school at E.C. Glass in the early 1950’s. Jeanette was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend. In addition to her first and second husbands and parents, Jeanette was preceded in death by one brother, Clinton Franklin Stanley and two sisters, Ann S. Terry and Doris Stanley Crist. In addition to her current husband, Jeanette is survived by her son, Keith L. Tyree of Madison Heights; one sister, Arlene S. Heiser of Winston-Salem, NC; and other loving family members and friends. A funeral service will be conducted 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 5, 2019, at Whitten Monelison Chapel with the Rev. Alan Kim Webster officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, December 4, 2019, at Whitten Monelison Chapel. The family requests and prefers that appropriate funeral attire be worn at both the visitation and the funeral.
