Carol S. Soley

Carol S. Soley, 92, passed away December 12, 2020 at Brown County Health and Living. Carol was born and raised in Elmhurst, Illinois on September 8, 1928, youngest of five children of Somers H. and Hazel B. Smith. She attended local schools and graduated with high honors in Microbiology in 1950 from the University of Illinois-Urbana. In 1953 she married E. Lloyd Soley of Lombard, Illinois. Both are survived by sons, David R. Soley of Lake Villa, Illinois and Jeffrey R. Soley of Louisville, Kentucky; grandsons, Graham Soley of Washington, D.C. and Nathan Soley of Ames, Iowa; and a granddaughter, Alsion Schactschneider of Grayslake, Illinois. With their birth she became and remained a homemaker for the balance of her life. Carol during marriage enjoyed travel, volunteering, craft arts, and politics.
