Harold Wayne Baldwin

Harold Wayne Baldwin, 80 years of age, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away from COVID-19 complications on September 10, 2020. He was born on June 18, 1940 in Washington, Indiana, to the late Oral Eugene and Mary Maxine (Clemans) Baldwin. Wayne graduated from New Albany High School in 1958. In 1969, he received a Bachelor’s degree from Indiana State University in Industrial Arts (Secondary Education) with a major in Auto Mechanics and Metals.
Wayne worked as a machinist and metal fabricator for many years, retiring finally as a foreman from Service Welding & Machine Company (Louisville, Kentucky). He was proud to have designed and built a major addition to his home in the 1970s. In his younger years, Wayne enjoyed riding his Vincent motorcycle and hot rodding, building custom car exhausts and engines. He was a talented sketch artist and draftsman, and treasured his connections with the local community of artists. Wayne was also a devoted animal lover, being particularly fond of cats.
He is survived by his daughter Tina (James Hawkins) and sons Theodore (Dale Sexton) and Timothy; grandson, Ryan; brother, Don (Judy); former spouse and mother of his children, Carla Robinzon (Boaz); and extended family members.
Visitation will be from 2:00 to 5:00 pm on Sunday, September 13, 2020 at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana 47150. A private graveside service will be held on Monday.
