Alvie Sanford Norman Jr.

Alvie Sanford Norman, Jr., 90, of Newburgh, IN, went to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, January 3, 2019. He was born in Creek County, OK on March 28, 1928 to Alvie and Josie Norman. He was a member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 136 for 63 years, Masonic Lodge #64 for 58 years and Past Patron of Robert Morris Order of the Eastern Star #87. Alvie was a member of Gateway Baptist Church where he served as an usher and greeter. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Alvie Sanford Norman III; brother, Ellis Norman; and great-granddaughter, Mya Norman. Alvie is survived by his wife of 36 years, Jo Ann Norman; daughter, Karen Knapp (Jim); son, Ray Norman (Joy); seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Delbert (Emma Lou), Reverend Lee Norman (Dixie); and sisters, Hazel Jordan and Verda Miller (Richard). Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Alexander Newburgh Chapel officiated by Dr. Larry Lewis with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit 3-8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
