Patricia "Patty" Bruggenschmidt

Patricia “Patty” Bruggenschmidt, 62, of Newburgh, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2023. She was born December 31, 1960 in Easton, PA to the late Robert and Mildred (Breidinger) Plotts. Patty had an unwavering faith and her family rejoices that she is in her Heavenly Home. She was a pillar of strength and lit up the room with her smile and laugh. Patty loved being a Nana and fiercely loved her family and friends. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, family lake and beach vacations, and bargain shopping with her girls. Patty was preceded in death by her sister, Carol Fournier; brother, Bob Plotts; grandchild, Kate Bruggenschmidt, and first husband, Steve Thompson. She is survived by her husband, Stephen Bruggenschmidt; daughters, Amanda Thompson (Brian Csukas) and Jill Johnson (Michael); step children, Adam Bruggenschmidt (Elizabeth Manabat), Eric Bruggenschmidt (Ashlee), Andrea Wagner (Jeremy), and Carrie Bruggenschmidt; grandchildren, Andy, Gabe, Emma, Natalie, Connor and Grant; mother-in-law, Roberta Thompson; siblings, Gary Thompson (Cheryl), Barrie Fournier, and Cheryl Plotts; many nieces and nephews; beloved extended family members, and her fur babies, Penny and Bubby. The outpouring of love Patty has received from friends and family is a true testament to the love she shared with others. The family would also like to thank the entire staff at Deaconess Gateway Hospital for their care and kindness over the past year and a half. A Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 20, 2023 at Living Word Christian Church, 3888 State Road 261, officiated by Rev. Fritz Kaufman. Family and friends may visit 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 19, 2023 at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road 261 and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
