Soon Bok "Yung Mi" Cole

Soon Bok “Yung Mi” Cole, 63, of Newburgh passed away after a 5 year battle with cancer on Monday, November 9, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 25, 1957 in Chun An, South Korea and moved as a teenager to Odessa, TX with her brother and sisters. She was a devoted member of Abundant Life Church in Newburgh and Korean Church of Evansville. She was always a witness to the church and believed in spreading the word to all who would listen. Yung Mi enjoyed traveling to Cancun and Belize or anywhere warm and sunny. She was an avid gardener who found peace and relaxation while tending her flowers. Yung Mi is the beloved mother of sons, Joseph Roy McGuire (Kara) of Washington, DC, and John McGuire of Newburgh; granddaughter, Ava McGuire; sisters, Yung Cha Goff (Edward VanDyke Pickell), Soon Ja Pak (Doug Hwan) and Soon Rye Kim (Juho), and brother,Yung Hwan Ham (Yoon Jung Ham). A Funeral Service will be 11:30 a.m., Friday, November 13, 2020 at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road 261, officiated by Pastor Chuck Tidd, with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.
