Obituary of Mary Coleman Gauldin
Mary Coleman Gauldin 88 of Richmond, VA died peacefully on September 13, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years , Clyde N. Gauldin; daughter, Susan Lee Gauldin and brother, George D. Coleman. She is survived by her son, C. Neal Gauldin, Jr. and his wife, Myra Y. Cannon; two granddaughters, Jenna Rene Gauldin and Erin Michelle Gauldin. Born, June 2, 1930 in Danville, VA. She attended George Washington High School and Averett College before moving with her husband, to Blacksburg, VA, where he attended VPI. After graduation, the couple moved to Richmond, VA where they started a home building business. She enjoyed working and remained active most of her life. She was a dedicated member of River Road Church, enjoying all of her volunteer duties and a past member of the Tuckahoe Women’s Club, Sleepy Hollow Garden Club, The Gentry, as well many bridge clubs. Gardening, sailing and entertaining were her favorites, along with the many vacations she enjoyed with her family. Mary was always the ‘Belle of the Ball’ and enjoyed a wonderful life. The family would like to thank the staff at Our Lady of Hope for their compassion and professional help, as well as Judy Lee, her devoted friend and caregiver. A funeral service will be held at 11a.m. on Thursday, September 20, at River Road Church, Baptist, 8000 River Road, Richmond, VA 23229. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Memorial Garden Fund at River Road Church. Condolences may be expressed online at woodyfuneralhomeparham.com.
