Frances Virginia Grimsley

Frances Virginia Grimsley, 90, a resident of Shenandoah gracefully passed away on February 22, 2016 at 1:55 p.m. She will be deeply missed. She was born in Shenandoah on September 6, 1925 and was the daughter of the late Otis Olin and Minnie Irene Kite Grimsley. Frances attended Shenandoah High School and was employed with Sleepwear before retiring in 1994. She was a member of Grove Hill United Methodist Church serving as treasurer for 47 years; she was also a Member of the Virginia Grand Lodge of Virginia. She is survived by her nephews, Allen and (Tina) Comer of Shenandoah, Gary and (Carla) Souder of Harrisonburg, Don Souder of Broadway, and Dick and (Sharon) Souder of Timberville; a niece, Belinda Seal and Chip Tumblin of Manassas; great nieces and nephews, Ryan and Madison Comer, Tiffany Seal, Shannon, Edward, Richard and Karrie Souder, Kristin Mayo, and Angie McClure; and numerous great-great-nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters, Tressie Elizabeth Grimsley Souder and Betty Lee Grimsley Comer. Frances loved to travel, knitting, sewing and visiting with people. A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Grove Hill United Methodist Church with Pastor Ellen Martin officiating. Burial will be private. Friends may call at the home of Allen and Tina Comer at any time. In honor of her passing, in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to Grove Hill United Methodist Church.
