Mae H. Triggs

Mae Herring Triggs, 90, a resident of Shenandoah, has been called by The Lord to come home to be with her loving husband, William R. Triggs, Sr., and her sisters, Vandilla H. Shelton and Lucille H. Shinn on Wednesday, May 18, 2011. She had been ill for the past two years. She was born in Elkton on May 2, 1921 and was the daughter of the late Journey and Elizabeth Rodgers Herring. Mae graduated from Elkton High School and moved to Shenandoah from Elkton where she lived for 70 years. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Epran, the Crafters Club and a bowling team. She is survived by one daughter Constance “Connie” Triggs Switzer of Shenandoah; two sons, William “Bill” Triggs, Jr. and wife, Melva of Glen Burnie, MD, and Thomas “Tommy” Triggs and wife, Cheryl of Shenandoah; five grandsons, Thomas A. Triggs, Jr and wife, Tracy, William R. Triggs III, and wife, Kristie, Scott Switzer, Dustin Triggs and William Hamby; and six great-grandsons, Chad and Cody Switzer, Zachary, Daniel, Tyler, and Taner Triggs; a devoted niece, Linda Moss and friend Dimple Dorraugh. A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM, Thursday, May 19, 2011 at Rest Haven Cemetery with Rev. Stephen Creech officiating. There will be no viewing and the casket will remain closed. Following the graveside service please join the family at Christ United Methodist Church for a meal to celebrate Mae’s life.
