Winifred Owens

Winifred Beattie Owens passed away peacefully at the age of 96, after a long illness in Stafford, Virginia on March 18, 2020. Winifred was born on September 10, 1923 in Charleston, South Carolina, to John Edward and Winifred Beattie. She resided in Staunton, Virginia and Norfolk, Virginia, before moving to Stafford. Winifred is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John H. and Cynthia Cupp; step-daughter Kim Leonard; her grandchildren – Judy Lynn Staples, John H. Cupp Jr., and Marcella Bell; her great-grandchildren – Alexa Hinson, Emily Bologna, Katheryn Cupp, Mary-Claire Cupp, Janie Cupp, Meygen Burns, Seth Ibarra, and Sydni Garcia; and her great-great-granddaughter Nylah Bologna. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who knew her. Winifred was preceded in death by her siblings; Dalton Beattie, Ruth Fitzgerald, Charles Fravel, Vivan Fravel, and Mary Blackwell; and her loving husband, Lorimar Owens. According to her final wish, her ashes will be interred with Lorimer in Norfolk, Virginia at a date to be determined.
