Donald A. Cobble

Donald A. Cobble, 87, of Staunton went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 15, 2021.
Born March 13, 1934 in Long Beach, CA, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alvin B. Cobble. In his late teens, he moved to White Sulfur Springs, WVA where he met the love of his life, Sara L. Guyer. On October 14, 1953 the two were married and shared 54 years together before she passed in 2008.
Don was a U.S. Air Force veteran and served his country honorably as a radio technician in the Korean Conflict. While serving in the Air Force, Don found his passion for golf and played on the U.S. Golf Team. Following his service in the Air Force, he could be found on Gypsy Hill Golf Course participating in local golf tournaments, bowling, or refereeing little league and high school football. Don was a member of Second Presbyterian Church, Staunton. After 40 years in the automotive industry, he retired from McDonough Dodge.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Donald A. Cobble, Jr.; brother, George Cobble; and sister, Patricia Cobble.
Survivors include his two daughters, Vickie L. and Billy Horn, and Lisa M. and Jared Redifer; three grandsons, Brian S. Bosserman, Ryan S. Farrow, and Brandon C. and Jessica Farrow; great-grandson, Karson C. Farrow; great-granddaughter, Hunter B. Lawson; and sister, Lynn Slanley.
A celebration of life will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 21, 2021 at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie 680, 225 Old Greenville Road, Staunton.
There will be no public viewing or visitation at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Augusta Health Foundation, C/O Hospice of the Shenandoah, P.O. Box 1000, Fishersville, VA 22939.
