Obituary of Dottie B. Whitesell
Dottie (Bosserman) Whitesell went to be with the Lord on April 10, 2017 with her family by her side, after losing a valiant battle with ALS, “Lou Gehrig’s Disease”. Dottie was born in Mint Spring, VA to the late Oliver and Dorothy Bosserman. She is survived by her mother, Dorothy and her brothers, Doug (Cathy) and Russell (Brenda) Bosserman. She graduated from Wilson Memorial High School and the Elizabeth Brant School of Business. She then went on to work in various roles in the Augusta County area before finishing her career as a Credit Union Manager. She and her husband, Butch Whitesell then retired to spend more time with her sons, Brian (Mary) and Kevin (Darlene) and Kevin’s daughter, Jessica. Butch and Dottie were set to celebrate their 54th anniversary this week. They enjoyed traveling to visit family and friends as often as possible. When they did stay home, Dottie enjoyed caring for her gardens and flowers. Her most favorite pastime though was cooking for her family, which included her legendary homemade rolls. To celebrate Dottie’s life, family and friends are asked to join at the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Home, 1870 Stuarts Draft Highway, Stuarts Draft, VA on Friday, April 14, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A graveside service will be conducted at Augusta Memorial Park, 1775 Goose Creek Rd., Waynesboro, VA, on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Tracy Love and Rev. Nancy Vaughan officiating. The family will also receive guests at Calvary United Methodist Church, 2179 Stuarts Draft Highway, Stuarts Draft, VA following the graveside service. Memorial Donations may be given to the ALS Association by mail at The ALS Association, Gift Processing Center, P.O. Box 37022 Boone, IA 50037 or online by visiting www.alsa.org/donate/.
