Betty June Smith

Betty June Smith, age 94, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2020 in Strongsville, Ohio. Betty was born on July 11, 1925 in Brazil, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Richard Smith in 1972, and her mother Gertrude McCullough in 1990. Betty is survived by her children Charles (Sally) Smith, Theodore (Therese) Smith, and Richlyn McArthur (Edmundo Perez). Dear grandmother of Elizabeth, Charles J. (Gina) and Michael Smith, Aaron and Elisha McArthur (Alan Commack), Paul, Natalie and Ciaran Smith. Beloved great grandmother of Alessandra, Massimo, Giuliana, Nassim, Miska and Charlotte. Betty was raised in Brazil where she graduated from Brazil High School and received her RN nursing degree from the US Cadet Nurse Corps. After having worked at Clay County Hospital, St. Anthony’s in Terre Haute and Warner & Swasey in Cleveland, she continued using her skills to guide and care for her family and friends. Betty also served as an Elder at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Terre Haute. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 24th from 3 to 7 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home. A funeral ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, at the funeral home. Betty will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Park.
