Doris Mae VanDeventer

Doris Mae VanDeventer, 87, of Indianapolis, passed away on Monday, Oct. 22, 2018, at Westminster Village. She was born on March 24, 1931, in Casey, Ill., to William and Ruth (Alexander) Lown. Doris is survived by her children, Susan VanDeventer, Steve VanDeventer and wife Jeanie; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Everett VanDeventer; and a son, Larry VanDeventer. Doris enjoyed being a homemaker and taking care of her family. She was an excellent seamstress and quilter. She loved to knit, crochet, and cook. She will be truly missed. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018, at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home. A funeral ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, at the funeral home, with Pastor Ryan Pursch officiating. Doris will be laid to rest in Rosedale Cemetery.
