Jack Gene Gorby

Jack Gene Gorby, 90, of Bandera, Texas and formerly of Terre Haute, passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2019. He was born on November 19, 1928 in Coalmont, Indiana to Everett Gorby and Muriel Craig Gorby. Jack served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He retired as an Insurance Agent for Nationwide Insurance in Terre Haute; former memberships include volunteer fireman at Otter Creek Volunteer Fire Department, Kiwanis, North Little League, and North Vigo High School Band Boosters. Jack was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Gwenneth Rector; and a son-in-law, Kenneth Strieby. Surviving are his wife, Charlene who he was married to for 69 years; two daughters, Jil (Brett) Utterback, and Cindy Strieby; grandchildren, Brett Bryant (Kelly) Utterback, Matthew (Monica) Utterback, Karyn Utterback(David Baroffio), Greta (Bradley) Wirey, Krista Nave(Eric Madison), Kendra (Mike) Henthorne and 17 great-grandchildren. Jack enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and especially mushroom hunting. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 11 A.M. at Roselawn Funeral Home, interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4-8 pm at the funeral home.
