Albert Thomas Bajada

Albert Bajada, 93, passed away on November 13, 2019. He was born in Valetta, Malta on June 30, 1926 to the late Charles and Mary Bajada. When he was three years old, he and his family moved to the United States. When Al was 17, he joined the U.S. Navy and served his country during WWII. He was a part of D-Day invasions in Normandy as a LCVP boat driver and was one of the few crafts that was able to make a beach landing in the first wave of the invasion. Later Al became a very successful business owner with several catering operations in Rockland County, NY. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, watching football and the news.
Left to cherish his memory are 7 children, Anthony Bajada, Candice Zadeh, Judith Bajada, Terese Maher, Diane McDonald, Irene Dawson (John) and Anton Leonardes (Kristen); 1 brother, Edwin Bajada; 2 sisters, Yvonne Leone, and Rose Oliver (Joe); 7 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2-5:00 PM, on Friday, November 22, 2019 at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home with a funeral service at 5:00 PM. You may offer condolences at www.kellumfuneralhome.com
