Cheryl Collins Reiley, 77, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, passed away on May 1st, 2024, after a long battle with lung cancer.
Cheryl was born on February 15, 1947, in Philadelphia, PA, to James William Collins and Edith Newman Collins. She graduated from Germantown High School and dedicated 17 years to serving the community through her work at Reiley Funeral Home. Cheryl's passion for advocacy led her to join Americorps, where she served as a program coordinator, assisting refugees from Cambodia and Laos.
Ms. Reiley pursued her education, earning a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and a Master's in Education. In 2002, she began a fulfilling career as a teacher at Forest Acres Elementary School in Easley, South Carolina. Cheryl retired in 2009 and devoted her time to traveling and reconnecting with loved ones.
Cheryl is survived by her daughters, Lisa Anne (Michael) Klock, Jennifer Anne (Robert Ford) Ford, Annmarie (Brian Nicholas Kay) Reiley-Kay, Suzanne (Demetrius Robertson) Robertson, her son, Richard Robert (wife Samantha Gan) Reiley III, five grandchildren, and host of family, and friends.
