Curtis Ivan Strickland

Curtis Ivan Strickland, 72, passed away to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday night in Norfolk with his family by his side. Curtis was born in Norfolk to the late Ivan and Hazel Strickland. Curtis is also predeceased by his son, Scott Wayne Strickland and brother, Gary Strickland. He is survived by his loving wife, Catherine “Kit” Strickland; children, David Warren Strickland and his wife, Jennifer of Norfolk and Jill McCoy and her husband, Doug of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; five grandchildren, Johnathan, Shelby, Savannah, Emily and Ava. Curtis worked as a GIS-14 ASIR of NAVAIR with the DOD for his career. He was an avid bowler and achieved a perfect 300 game. Aside from bowling he loved baseball and golf as well. He was a former Bishop with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Norfolk. A funeral service will begin at 11am, Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Norfolk, 2741 Greendale Ave, Norfolk, VA 23518. There will be a visitation two hours prior at the church starting at 9am. Burial will immediately follow the funeral at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Norfolk.
