Obituary of Eduardo Gundayao Agbuya
Eduardo Gundayao Agbuya, 84, of Virginia Beach, VA, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 31, 2021. Eduardo is predeceased by his parents, the late Macario and Anastacia Agbuya and two sons, Enders and Patrick. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Purita; daughters, Pamela Gonzales (Ranchie) and Pinky McCoy (Joseph); sister, Rita Agbuya; five grandchildren, Jordan, Paran, Trey, Piper, and Patrick, along with several nieces and nephews. Ed was born in San Carlos City, Pangasinan, Philippines on April 29, 1937, where he attended Rural High School. He continued his studies in civil engineering at FIATI University in Manila, Philippines. Later, he was honored to serve his country, in the U.S. Navy for 22 years, becoming a veteran of the Vietnam War. He continued as a civil service employee for 15 Years at Naval Station Norfolk. He was a faithful member of the Church of the Ascension, Pangasinan Association of Virginia, Fil-Am Bayanihan, and the Fil-Am Veterans. He enjoyed gardening, cooking, dancing, traveling with family, and treasured spending time with his grandchildren. Eduardo was a selfless and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him. There will be a visitation on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 from 4-8 pm at Smith and Williams Funeral Home at 4889 Princess Anne Rd. in VA Beach. A Funeral Mass will be held at the Church of the Ascension on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at 1:00 pm with burial following at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
