He loved the military and was very supportive of military personnel and veterans throughout his life. Charles lived in Virginia several different times throughout his life and he loved the mountains, but his heart was always in Texas. He enjoyed being outside gardening and building and making things. He especially loved to talk and visit with family and friends. Charles will be greatly missed by all who knew him. The family will have a memorial service at a later date and Charles will be buried at Jackson Cemetery in Krum, TX at his request. The family would like to thank the nurses, doctors, aids and therapists with the Veterans Administration Home Based Primary Care program, Hospice of the Shenandoah and Visiting Angels for all of the excellent care given to Charles during his last few years as his health declined. This enabled him to remain at home with his family and everything is greatly appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
