Obituary of Francis B. Kueser

IN THE CARE OF

Nelsen Williamsburg

Francis Blaise Kueser (Frank) was born February 3, 1932 in Scipio, Kansas, the eighth of ten children of Frank and Gertrude (Hermrick) Kueser. His sharp mind and eye for fairness propelled him toward a law degree, but not before his charming smile caught the eye of his beautiful bride-to-be, Leota (Lee) Coughlin, whom he married 66 years ago on May 30, 1952. He had a strong devotion to Jesus Christ and was a member of St. Bede for over 29 years. Frank's greatest joys in life were his children: Richard ("Butch") and his wife Jackay, Pam and her husband Mark Sexton, Cindy and her husband Mike Hill, Jim and his wife Michelle, Chris and his wife Christine, Joe and his wife Carla, and John, along with his 21 grandchildren and 6.5 great grandchildren. Frank was competitive at every game he played, and played to win. Especially golf, bocce, yard games, card games, and board games. Frank even figured out how to make jigsaw puzzles, sudoku puzzles, and loading the dishwasher competitive. Frank entered the Navy right out of high school, then spent over 35 years with Bendix/Allied Signal. Then he "retired" to join Cadre/London Group in Williamsburg, Virginia. Frank was the treasurer for FISH in Williamsburg for over 20 years, and a member of the Kingsmill Men's Golf Association. Frank successfully fought multiple myeloma for eight years. He died peacefully in his sleep Tuesday morning due to complications associated with an infection. His wife and two loving daughters were at his side. Frank is survived by sisters, Irene Wittman, Teresa Schermerhorn and Marie (Jerry) Robertson and in-laws Mary and Gene McCain, Mart and Marlys Coughlin and their families. Frank is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Earl, Joe, Harold, Ralph, and Alfred; and sister, Laverne Wittman. Oh, and one more thing. Please never refer to Frank as "The Late Francis Kueser", as Frank was never late for anything! A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, August 13, 2018 at St. Bede Catholic Church, 3686 Ironbound Road, Williamsburg, VA 23188. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in Frank's name to FISH of Williamsburg. Donations can be made at https://williamsburgfish.weebly.com/donate.html.
