Paul Francis Chartier

Paul Francis Chartier, 79, of Williamsburg, Virginia passed away on May 13, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Adrian Chartier and Eugenie Hevey Chartier.
Paul grew up in Ware, Massachusetts, where he graduated from Ware High School in 1957. He attended the University of Massachusetts for two years before completing Aviation Cadet Training in Harlingen, Texas and being commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force in February 1961. He received a BS in Management from St Edwards University, Austin, Texas, in 1975.
His thirty year Air Force career took him to various countries outside of the United States including many in South and Central America, Japan, Vietnam, England, and the Republic of the Philippines. In the U.S., he pulled duty assignments at Mather AFB, CA, Turner AFB, GA, Bergstrom AFB, TX, Hickam AFB, HI, and CINCLANT Headquarters in Norfolk, VA where he retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in August of 1984. After his Air Force career, he was employed by the Virginia State Corporation Commission where he worked as a Securities Investigator and Auditor in the Division of Securities and Retail Franchising for 12 years before retiring in July of 2003. He was an avid golfer and sports enthusiast.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Linda Stoddard Chartier of Williamsburg, Virginia; daughters, Jacqueline Chartier of Seattle, Washington and Jo Ann Chartier of Northampton, Massachusetts; and son, Andrew Chartier of Amherst, Massachusetts. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Jacob Chartier and Shani Chartier, who live in Amherst, Massachusetts.
