June Kalijarvi Conway

June Kalijarvi Conway died unexpectedly on Friday August 3, 2018 in her home in Alexandria Virginia. She was born May 30, 1941, in Boston Massachusetts, the daughter of U.S. Ambassador Thorsten and Dorothy Kalijarvi. June is survived by her husband of 45 years Dr. Hugh Conway IV, daughter Alexis Conway Zaloudek, son in law Michael Zaloudek, son Hugh Conway V, daughter in law Brigit Ferguson Conway, and grandchildren Jacob Zaloudek, Fiona Conway, and Hugh Conway VI. In 1975 June became the founding member and a long time managing partner of the law firm now known as Kalijarvi, Chuzi, Newman & Fitch, P.C. She practiced employment law for over 40 years. A recognized expert in her field, June taught classes and gave lectures on employment law throughout the country. She graduated from Wellesley College (BA, 1963) and received her Juris Doctor and Master of Laws degrees from Georgetown University (JD, 1973, LLM 1975). She is a graduate of The Madeira School in McLean, Virginia (class of 1959). The wake will take place 4-7 PM on Thursday, August 9 at Demaine Funeral Home, 520 South Washington Street, Alexandria Virginia. Flowers would be welcome. The Funeral Mass service will be held at Good Shepard Catholic Church, 8710 Mount Vernon Hwy, Alexandria, Virginia at 10:30 AM on Friday, August 10, 2018.
