Today, we gather to honor the remarkable life of Rowena Elizabeth Keeys affectionately known to many as "Ruby". Born in Jamaica in 1945, Ruby's journey was one of strength, love, and faith.
As a devoted mother, Ruby's love knew no bounds. She courageously brought her children to a new land, forging a path of opportunity and prosperity for her family. Her unwavering dedication and sacrifices will forever be cherished.
Ruby was not only a mother but also an intercessory prayer warrior, a beacon of hope for all who knew her. Her steadfast faith and fervent prayers touched countless lives, bringing comfort and strength to those in need.
In addition to her roles as a mother and prayer warrior, Ruby was a force in the culinary world. Her restaurant stood as a testament to her passion and culinary skill, delighting patrons with delicious meals and warm hospitality for many years.
Above all, Ruby was a mighty woman of God. Her unwavering faith illuminated her path, guiding her through life's challenges with grace and resilience. Her life exemplified the virtues of kindness, compassion, and love.
Though Ruby man no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Let us remember her with love, gratitude, and reverence, knowing that her legacy will continue to inspire us for generations to come.
A viewing for Rowena will be held Wednesday, May 29, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00AM at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 1301 Collingwood Rd, Alexandria, VA 22308, followed by a funeral service from 11:00AM-1:00pm, concluding with a graveside service at Pleasant Valley Memorial Park.
