David Charles Thompson

David Charles Thompson was born on April 8, 1949 in Red Bud, IL to the late, Floyd and Doris Thompson. On March 26, 2019 he peacefully passed in Arlington, VA. David graduated in 1971 from Michigan State University. He then joined the Peace Corps, serving South American countries for 20 years. Upon returning to the District of Columbia, he became a senior public health advisor at Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). He retired in 2014. David was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He is preceded in death by his parents, twin brother Donald, and sister Linda. David was an uncle, great-uncle, and godfather to Ashleigh. His memories will be cherished by 2 nieces, 1 nephew, 5 great-nieces, 2 great-nephews, and other relatives and friends. David will be greatly missed and loved by all, especially his longtime companion Richard.
